There’s something special about savoring a cup of espresso on a crisp autumn day, when the air is cool and the world is painted in warm shades of orange and brown. That feeling was the inspiration behind this coaster. I wanted to challenge myself by blending different woods in a single piece, and by exploring the art of inlay. The dark, rich Zebrano seemed the perfect choice to capture the essence of a coffee bean, while the lighter oak created a natural contrast that brought the design to life. Working with the Cubiko pushed me beyond what I thought possible, and the result felt like more than just a coaster—it became a small expression of warmth, craft, and season. To my delight, a local café discovered the design and asked me to create a set of 20 pieces to replace their disposable coasters, giving this little project a second life in the hands of coffee lovers.
